Lantern roofs can be a large expanse of glass leading to heat loss during the winter months and oppressive glare and heat in summer. Adding insulation with thermal blinds for lantern roofs can go a long way to making the room feel comfortable throughout the year.
Duette® thermal fabrics Pure™ Lantern blinds will give you complete control over how much light you want to let in and will help to reduce heat transmission so your room will be cooler in the warmer months.
The honeycomb structure of our thermal blinds - including Duette® fabrics - help create an insulation layer.
Our thermal blinds are available in a wide range of colours, including room darkening fabrics.
We have a wide range of motors for our lantern blinds, including heavy-duty motors that can move even the largest blinds.
Thermal Duette® fabrics are ideal for an individual layout, as they can fit into the tricky shapes in some lantern roofs.
Our blind rails come in a choice of 12 standard colours to compliment your conservatory or orangery. They can also be powder-coated to any RAL colour for an additional cost.

A few years ago Conservatory Blinds [now Specialist Blinds] fitted electric blackout blinds in a large irregularly shaped skylight. They are brilliant.
Recently a rather cynical and jaded estate agent commented how clever they were when he saw them in operation. Working out the angles cannot have been an easy task. Today I had the blinds serviced. I cannot recommend Ryan enough.
First Class. Duette® pleated blinds were fitted covering all obtuse shapes. The estimate was more competitive than the so-called top brand.
The fitter was the surveyor, so they take responsibility for their own mistakes—if any. None were made. The flush window finish is delightful.
We started with a non pushy salesman who knew exactly how the product functioned. He took into account what I wanted and explained and advised every step of the way. The fitter was brilliant, no fuss, no mess. When he (not me) wasn’t happy with the result at the end he adjusted the blind mechanism at the end so that everything worked perfectly. It was a great job, totally customer oriented and an excellent product. I would certainly recommend the company.
Because the lantern roof blinds are fitted into a frame, it is not possible to remove them for cleaning. However, you can to spot-clean the fabric and remove any debris that has accumulated on top of the blind.
Our range of puresystem™ Lantern Roof Blinds allow for blinds that don’t need support wires across the bottom of the lantern itself—depending on size. Some larger sizes will require wires to prevent the fabric from sagging. Speak to a consultant to see what type of lantern roof blinds we recommend for you.
